Since 2016, Jakob Lui has established himself as an independent indie artist based in San Antonio, Texas. His debut single, “Easy to Leave Me,” has garnered approximately 400,000 streams on SoundCloud, attracting the attention of indie music enthusiasts globally. Jakob's unique style blends poignant, bittersweet lyrics with dark, eerie instrumentals, creating a liminal atmosphere that resonates deeply with listeners. All of his music is produced in his home studio, along with the entirety of his promotional materials and visuals, showcasing his dedication to his craft.

Jakob Lui has cultivated a devoted following with his DIY bittersweet indie pop sound in the formative stages of his musical journey. Since then, both his artistry and sound have undergone significant evolution. His current work embraces a darker aesthetic, characterized by haunting synths, abstract guitar textures, and infectious vocal melodies. The lyrics delve into the complexities of self-discovery in today’s rapidly changing landscape. As his sound has matured, so too has his audience, who remain steadfast in their support as he navigates the diverse phases of his music career.

I have had the privilege of opening for notable acts such as Okey Dokey, Sun Diver, and White Hall, performing in front of audiences exceeding 100 attendees. At each show, I offer my merchandise, which I personally screen print at home. To date, I have successfully sold over 100 shirts, both online and at live events.
